1 credit per transcript · Public videos only

Get an Instagram Reels transcript in seconds: paste the link to any public Reel and TextFromReel turns the speech into text, then splits it the way Reels are built. The opening hook, the body and the closing call to action each get their own block, so you can study a Reel's structure or reuse your own script without replaying the video.

A Reel transcript, split into parts

This is the real output for a 28-second astronaut vlog posted by NASA. Lines that start in the first 3 seconds form the hook, the last line is the call to action, and everything in between is the body.

Hook · first 3 seconds

  1. 00:00

Good morning from my dragon lair.

  2. 00:02

Now that Crew 13 has arrived, I've given up my crew quarters and I'm camping out in my dragon vehicle.

Body

  1. 00:08

Here's my view right next to my sleeping bag outside my window here, the earth and the Crew 13 dragon.

  2. 00:14

    A gorgeous view.

  3. 00:16

Reminds me of my best piece of advice to them.

  4. 00:19

Remember to look out the window and realize where you are.

  5. 00:22

And I think that kind of advice goes for everybody down on earth as well.

Call to action

  1. 00:26

    Have a good day.

What each part of a Reel tells you

Hook · first 3 seconds

The words that stop the scroll. Most viewers decide in the first few seconds whether to keep watching, so the hook is the line worth studying most. Collect hooks from Reels that did well in your niche and the patterns start to show.

Body

Where the Reel delivers on its promise: the tip, the story or the steps. Reading it as text shows how tightly a good Reel is written and how few words it needs.

Call to action

The last line tells viewers what to do next: follow, save, comment or tap the link in bio. Seen on its own, it's easy to compare how different creators ask.

How to get a Reels transcript

  1. 1

    Copy the Reel link

In Instagram, tap the share icon on the Reel and choose Copy link. On a computer, copy the address from the browser bar.

  2. 2

    Paste it above

Paste the link into the box at the top of this page and press Get Transcript. The language is detected for you.

  3. 3

Copy a part or the whole script

Copy the hook, the body or the call to action on its own, copy everything, or download TXT, SRT or VTT.

Ways to use a Reel transcript

  • Build a swipe file of hooks from Reels that went viral in your niche.
  • Turn your own Reels into captions, carousel posts, newsletters or blog posts.
  • Add subtitles with the SRT or VTT file, so your Reel works with the sound off.
  • Give the script to an AI assistant to summarize it or suggest new angles.

Studying a whole account? Batch mode turns up to 50 Reels to text at once, and every transcript is saved to My transcripts.

Limits

  • Only public Reels and video posts. Private accounts can't be reached.
  • Videos up to 3 minutes long.
  • A Reel with only music has nothing to transcribe, and the credit goes back to your balance.
  • The parts are set by timestamps, not AI. If a Reel opens with a few seconds of music, its first spoken line counts as the hook.

Instagram Reels transcript FAQ

Is the Instagram Reels transcript free?

No. Each Reel uses one credit, and credits come with the Pro plans or one-time packs. A Reel that fails, such as a private one or one with no speech, never uses a credit.

Do I need to sign in?

Yes. An account keeps your credit balance and saves every Reel transcript in My transcripts, so you can find it later.

Can I transcribe a Reel from a private account?

No. We only work with Reels anyone can watch without logging in. If a link is private or deleted, you'll see a clear message and keep your credit.

Which languages work?

The language is detected automatically, and you can choose from 19 languages, including English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Hindi, Arabic, Japanese and Korean.

What if the Reel is only music?

Then there are no spoken words to transcribe. We detect that, tell you, and return your credit.

How accurate is it, and how is the hook picked?

Clear speech comes out very accurately; check names and slang before you publish. The hook is every line that starts in the first 3 seconds, the call to action is the last line, and the body is everything in between.
